Polyanionic Cellulose Low Viscosity (PAC LV) is a water-soluble polymer made by carboxymethylation of natural cellulose and is widely used in the oil field. Low-viscosity PAC (PAC-LV) has become a key additive in high-permeability reservoirs, shallow oil fields and complex drilling fluid systems due to PAC LV's rapid dissolution, low thickening effect and excellent fluid loss reduction performance.

 

Main Application for PAC LV in Oil Drilling

  • 1. PAC LV used in drilling fluid system

    • PAC LV used as fluid loss reducer: The Low viscosity polyanionic cellulose could reduce the loss of drilling fluid to the formation and protect the permeability of the reservoir, especially suitable for high permeability sandstone formations. With such kind of function, the PAC LV could prevent water seepage or collapse of well wall rock during the drilling process.
    • PAC LV used as flow pattern adjustment additive: The low viscosity polyanionic cellulose could improve the rheology of drilling fluid and reduce the plastic viscosity. Each batch undergoes purity verification, moisture check and DP (degree of polymerization) inspection before entering production, ensuring stable substitution levels and filtration performance.

2. Production Process Control

The entire carboxymethylation and purification process is monitored through on-line viscosity tracking, etherification degree control and reaction temperature curve monitoring, ensuring consistency between different production lots.

3. Finished Product Inspection

We test filtration loss (API), DS, viscosity reading at 600 rpm, pH and moisture according to international oilfield chemical standards to guarantee performance stability in drilling fluids.
