Types of Special Grade CMC




Granular Carboxymethyl Cellulose
Granular Carboxymethyl Cellulose (G-CMC) is a high molecular weight cellulose ether compound made from natural cellulose through chemical modification. The introduction of carboxylmethyl groups into granular carboxymethyl cellulose's molecular structure makes it water-soluble, thickening, dispersible and stable.
Dispersible Carboxymethyl Cellulose
Hondo dispersible carboxymethyl cellulose is a cellulose ether product modified by a special process. It is a special modified product of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC-Na). The dispersible carboxymethyl cellulose has the characteristics of rapid dissolution, no need for pre-dispersion, and high dispersibility.
Super High D.S CMC
High-density carboxymethyl substitution gives Super high D.S CMC unique solubility, charge density and functionality, and it is widely used in medicine, food, industry and other fields. Based on this special characteristic, the Super high D.S CMC have a pretty good performance in actual production process.
Compound CMC
Compound CMC is a mixture of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and other chemicals. In the actual application process, due to the limitations of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose's own characteristics.
Ultra Low Viscosity CMC
While maintaining the basic functions of CMC-Na (such as dispersion, stability, and film formation), the ultra low viscosity CMC avoids significant impact on the fluidity of the system and is widely used in papermaking, pharmaceuticals, food, daily chemicals and industrial fields.

Storage Requirements of Special Grade CMC
Temperature
Temperature is one of the most critical factors that can impact the stability of CMC. CMC should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The ideal storage temperature for CMC is between 10°C and 30°C (50°F and 86°F). Exposure to high temperatures can cause CMC to degrade, resulting in a loss of its thickening and stabilizing properties. On the other hand, storing CMC at low temperatures can cause it to become brittle and difficult to dissolve.
Humidity
Humidity is another important factor that can affect the quality of CMC. CMC is hygroscopic, which means it can absorb moisture from the air. Excessive moisture can cause CMC to clump together, making it difficult to handle and dissolve. To prevent moisture absorption, CMC should be stored in a dry environment with a relative humidity of less than 60%. It is also recommended to store CMC in airtight containers to minimize its exposure to moisture.
Light
Light can also have a negative impact on the stability of CMC. Exposure to direct sunlight or ultraviolet (UV) light can cause CMC to degrade, resulting in a loss of its color and performance. To protect CMC from light, it should be stored in opaque containers or in a dark place.
